Overview
Templates vs Campaigns
Templates and campaigns have a parent-child relationship in the iRealty Email Builder. Changes made at the template level flow down to any campaigns built from it. Changes made directly inside a campaign override the template for that campaign only — the original template is not affected.
Template
A template is the original, reusable version of an email. It sits at the top of the hierarchy. Any changes made here will ripple through to all campaigns that were built from it.
Campaign
A campaign is a copy built from a template. It can be styled independently. Changes made inside a campaign only affect that campaign and will not update the original template.
Note: Changing the email width at template level will affect how all linked campaigns display. It is best to leave email width at its default value unless you have a specific reason to change it.
Accessing Style Settings
There are two ways to open the style panel inside the email builder:
- Builder style button — Located directly to the right of the template cards. Opens the full global style panel for the email.
- Change style (per section) — Available on most individual card sections. Clicking this jumps straight to the styling options for that specific section.
Global Styles
Global styles apply to the entire email. These are the foundational settings — set them first before customising individual cards.
Email Style
Controls the overall email layout, background colours, and spacing that wrap every section of the email.
- Email width — The total width of the email container. Leave at the default value unless your team has a specific requirement.
- Primary colour — The dominant brand colour used throughout the email.
- Background colour — The colour of the outer area surrounding the email body — visible behind the container.
- Container background — The colour of the email body container itself.
- Spacing & container padding — Controls how much breathing room exists around the email content.
Note: Avoid changing the email width — it can break how your email displays on different screen sizes and email clients.
Card Style
Sets the default background and internal spacing for card sections in the email.
- Card background colour — The background of each content card.
- Card padding — Space inside each card — affects how close text sits to the card edges.
Font Style
Sets the default font appearance across all body text in the email. Individual cards can override these defaults.
- Font family — The typeface used throughout the email body.
- Font weight — How thick or thin the text appears — e.g. regular (400) or bold (700).
- Font colour — The default text colour for body copy.
- Font size — The base text size for body content.
- Spacing — Letter spacing and line spacing to improve readability.
Header Style
Controls how section titles and main headings appear throughout the email.
- Font & font weight — Typeface and thickness for all header text.
- Colour — Colour of the header text.
- Font size — How large the heading text appears.
- Alignment — Left, centre, or right alignment for headings.
- Line height & spacing — Vertical space between heading lines and around the heading block.
Button Style
Defines the default appearance of call-to-action buttons used across the email.
- Background colour — The fill colour of the button.
- Border colour & width — Outline colour and thickness of the button border.
- Font & font colour — Typeface and colour of the button label text.
- Font size & weight — Text size and thickness inside the button.
- Padding — Space between the button text and its edges — affects button size.
- Alignment — Left, centre, or right alignment of the button within its container.
- Button rounding — Corner radius — use higher values for a pill shape, lower for square edges.
Icons
Controls the colour of icons used globally throughout the email.
- Icon colour — Sets the tint colour applied to all icons across the email.
Footer
Styles the footer section at the bottom of every email — typically containing legal text, unsubscribe links, and contact details.
- Font & font colour — Typeface and text colour for footer body text.
- Font size & weight — Text size and thickness in the footer.
- Links colour, size, font, weight — Appearance of clickable links within the footer.
- Divider size & weight — The line separating the footer from the content above — controls thickness and height.
- Container background & padding — Background colour and spacing for the footer container.
- Logo width & alignment — How large the footer logo appears and whether it sits left, centre, or right.
Card Styles
Each card type in the email builder has its own dedicated styling options. These override global styles for that specific card only.

Padding Reference
Understanding the difference between Card Padding and Container Padding is one of the most important concepts in the email builder — it is easy to apply the wrong one.
Card Padding vs Container Padding
These two padding types control different areas. Always check which one you need before making adjustments.
Card Padding
Controls the space inside the card — between the card border and the content (text, images, buttons). Changing card padding moves text closer to or further from the card edges.
Container Padding
Controls the space outside the card — between the card and the surrounding email layout (the sides of the email, or the sections above and below). Use this to increase breathing room between sections.
Content Spacing
Controls the vertical gap between individual elements within a card — for example, the space between the property address and the price.
Note: Changing container padding increases or decreases the space between the card and the edges of the email or the sections above and below it. Changing card padding moves the content within the card itself.
