How Eagle Connects to iRealty:
This article explains how Eagle integrates with iRealty, what data syncs, and what is recorded in each system.
Setting Up Contacts:
Eagle connects to iRealty using an API Client ID and Secret, which Eagle issues for the integration. To request them, email support@eaglesoftware.com.au.
These credentials aren't a staff login and don't use a user seat. Once they're in place, iRealty renews access automatically, so nothing needs to be re-entered. The integration doesn't change how Eagle works day to day; it simply syncs your contacts into iRealty.
iRealty never creates contacts in Eagle. Eagle remains the single source of truth for your database.
How Often Contacts Sync:
Subscribers are refreshed and updated daily, including any changes to their groups.
Subscriber Activity:
iRealty tracks each subscriber's campaign activity, including opens, clicks, property alert clicks and factsheet downloads, and updates their iRealty profile. This builds your send database and matches subscribers to account categories, so campaigns better reflect their preferences and get more engagement.
When a subscriber triggers a lead, iRealty adds a note to their Eagle contact record. Notes use fixed wording, always name iRealty, and are marked visible to vendor. For example:
- "[First name] triggered an iRealty property alert for [address], [suburb]"
- "[First name] triggered an iRealty Buyer Factsheet alert"
- "[First name] requested an appraisal via iRealty"
Notes are also written for rental appraisal requests, home loan enquiries, market report opens and property preference submissions.
Raw engagement data and scoring stay in iRealty and aren't sent to Eagle.
Unsubscribes and Preferences:
When a subscriber selects Unsubscribe from All in an iRealty email, Eagle is updated automatically, with no manual action needed. This also works in reverse: contacts marked as unsubscribed from email in Eagle are excluded from iRealty sends.
No note is added to the Eagle contact when this happens. This is expected behaviour for Eagle.
If a subscriber uses Update Preferences instead, for example to keep newsletters but stop property alerts, iRealty honours the change but Eagle isn't updated. Their Eagle record will still show their original settings.
Note: Only the Email flag is updated in Eagle. SMS, Letters and Property Alerts preferences are unaffected. A contact who unsubscribes from iRealty emails may still receive SMS or mail from Eagle unless those preferences are updated separately.
iRealty Groups:
Contact Groups you've created in Eagle sync into iRealty daily as iRealty groups. You can use them to build audiences and send EDMs. Groups created directly in iRealty don't transfer back to Eagle.
Note: A subscriber only joins or leaves a group when their profile is updated, so group counts may be slightly lower than expected. Bulk updates won't always update a subscriber's profile.
Connecting Properties:
Properties sync from Eagle through an XML code, set up between iRealty and Eagle when your account is created. Once it's active, changes made in Eagle appear in iRealty within about 5–20 minutes. You can use more than one XML code, as long as all codes belong to the same CRM.
A property won't sync if it:
- hasn't been marked to push through to iRealty
- is marked as off-market or hidden
- is linked to a different XML code from the one your iRealty account uses
To fix any of these, update the setting in Eagle and let the property feed push the change through.
Adding Properties Manually:
If you'd rather not sync a property, you can add it manually, either as a full property or as a property card entry only.
To add a full property:
- Go to Properties and click the green + button beside "Properties".
- Enter the property details in the pop-up.
- Upload images and select a hero image.
- Click Save. The property will then be available from the Import section.
